Collections

The collection contains correspondence, photographs, speeches, publications and administrative records created and collected by John M. Bailey, Connecticut lawyer and chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 1961-1968.

John M. Budarz was one of the founders of the Polish Art League of Pittsburgh and held the presidency of the organization twice. Mr. Budarz was also active in the American Council of Polish Cultural Clubs, an umbrella organization for various cultural clubs on the national level. Material in this collection relates to activities of the Polish Arts League of Pittsburgh, information on numerous cultural events, correspondence, and includes publication of their newsletter, Palette.

The John McDonald Papers consist of correspondence, manuscripts, and research materials related to McDonald's published writings on the practice and history of American business, management, game theory, and fishing. Also in the collection are files of his personal correspondence, papers documenting his political, social, and professional involvements, and material collected for works of fiction and non-fiction planned but never written.

The collection comprises collage books, collages, drawings, palettes, and posters by John McHale, with related printed material, including catalogs, periodicals, ephemera, and small posters.

Half of the papers consist of a diary (1815-1816) and notes kept while Garfield was a student at Yale University. Later material documents his activities as a teacher and as a clergyman. Included are notes on sermons, on classical literature, account books, a record of baptism, marriages and funerals (1826-1872), and papers on the New Haven Female Seminary and the Albany Female Seminary. Also included is the account book (1821-1825) of his wife, Ann Lyon Garfield.

John Mihelic was from Kansas City, Missouri and was a member of the Socialist Party. He was also involved with the Communist Party of America. The collection includes some correspondence and leftist/socialist publications from the early 20th century.

Physician and merchant. The papers consist of sixty-six letters from John Moore in Alabama and Texas to members of his family.

The papers consist of typescript drafts and research notes for three published works: Joe Tumulty and the Wilson Era; Woodrow Wilson and the Politics of Morality; and The Promise of America. Also included is some professional and personal correspondence.

Rev. John Moses Morris (1837-1889) was a minister, chaplain, editor, legislative clerk in Connecticut, Washington, D.C., and Charleston, S.C. The collection consists of examples of graphic designs and art works created by John McCrillis, including painting and drawing, relief printing, lettering, and typography. Examples are drawn from his work at the Yale University Press as well as his freelance work and works produced at McCrillis's Penny-Whistle Press.
