Co., which was founded in Weston in 1817 then moved to Georgetown in Wilton and Redding, remaining there through the 1990s. The G&B company initially produced animal hair products, particularly sieves. It soon added glue to its repertoire. Company innovations with wire led to its substitution for hair, and the mature company specialized in wire and wire products ranging from fencing materials through custom-made components for radio telescopes and military helicopters. The earliest known records in the collection date to the 1830s and continue through the closing of the factory and the corporate office's subsequent exit from the area.
