Correspondence, documents, financial papers, printed materials and other papers relating to the Choctaw removal to lands in Indian Territory and claims made by the Choctaw Nation against the United States Government. Correspondence includes letters from David Folsom, Choctaw Chief, to missionaries Cyrus Byington and Cyrus Kingsbury while in Washington negotiating the treaty of 1825. He writes of the deaths of two chiefs on the trip, and of the illness of others who had overindulged in the entertainment offered by the United States Government. Letters to missionary Cyrus Kingsbury from Folsom convey his reaction to preliminary queries from the Government in 1818 and 1819 concerning Choctaw removal to the west. Letters from Thomson McKenney to Forbis LeFlore (1851-1853) concern their efforts as Choctaw delegates to Washington to settle claims arising from the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek. McKenney also writes to Peter Pitchlynn and receives letters from Pitchlynn (1848-1854) about his duties as a Choctaw delegate. The documents include many petitions, memorials, resolutions, and appointments of delegates for the settlement of the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek claims. There are also three drafts of the Choctaw Constitution, written presumably during the convention which drafted the compromise constitution of 1860.

The records consist of correspondence, memoranda, subject and administrative files, minutes, and financial reports documenting the activities of the University Library, Information Technology Services, Department of History, and the Ivy Policy Committee, maintained by J. Lloyd Suttle as deputy provost for academic resources.

J. Louis von der Mehden, Jr. was born 20 July 1873 in San Francisco, California. Von der Mehden held several positions in San Francisco before moving east to New York City after the 1906 earthquake. He was steadily employed as a cellist or conductor with theatrical or commercial bands. Von der Mehden worked for a year as the musical director of Herald Square Theater before becoming involved full time in the recording industry, working at different times for five different phonograph studios: U.S. Phonograph, Pathé Frère, Columbia, Lyraphone and the Victor Talking Machine Company. On some recordings he played cello in the orchestra; more regularly he would conduct performances, often arranging the music the night before the recording sessions. In 1926, the von der Mehden's moved to Old Saybrook, Connecticut, full-time, having purchased a house in 1911. J. Louis von der Mehden, Jr. died 27 August 1954 in Middlesex Memorial Hospital and was buried in Cypress Cemetery at Saybrook Point.

The J. M. Barrie Collection contains correspondence, writings, and other papers relating to the life and work of the British author and playwright J. M. Barrie. The material was accrued by the Beinecke Library through gifts and purchases in the decades preceding 2011, and assembled into one collection in 2015. Along with correspondence from, to, and about Barrie, and examples of his writings for the theater, serials, and various publishers and audiences, the collection contains images of Barrie and some of his colleagues, artwork and ephemera from publications and theater productions, writings about him by other authors, and objects including his inkwell and his personal key to London's Kensington Gardens.

Published articles and manuscript maps created by John Neilson Barry, circa 1912-1944. Articles have been handbound by Barry and include his manuscript and typescript annotations as well as his illustrated maps of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Materials pertain to the histories of Oregon and Washington with a focus on expeditions through the Pacific Northwest and along the Columbia River, specifically the Astor Expedition (1810-1813), Lewis and Clark Expedition (1804-1806), and John Colter's explorations (1807-1808).

The collection contains Schumacher's research on philosophy and art history, and materials relating to his years at Westover School. Consisting of books, correspondence, clippings, and manuscripts, the collection includes sources in both German and English.

Papers of Joan Alzina, Catalan soldier in the Spanish Civil War's Republican Army, 24th Army Group, Group Logistics, 3rd Section. Includes seven notebooks documenting Alzina's service in the army, his time as a prisoner at Navalpino, and his tenure as a prison guard for a mental hospital at Alcalá de Henares, Madrid for other Republican prisoners. Alzina's notebooks written during the war include uncensored drafts of letters to family members. Also included is a drawing by Alzina of Mickey Mouse as a soldier and notes by Alzina on how to dig and fortify trenches.

Contains notes, correspondence, photocopies of genealogical works, and miscellaneous genealogical research on various families. There are also a variety of genealogical newsletters concentrating on different families.

The Joan Joffe Hall Papers include notebooks, correspondence, literary manuscripts, and professional papers of poet and educator Joan Joffe Hall. Hall taught at the University of Connecticut with a joint appointment in English and Women's Studies for forty years, beginning in 1963. Nationally renowned for her poetry and prose, she has published several collections of her work.
