Joseph A[nthony] Smith, children's author/illustrator and artist received his BFA from the Pratt Institute in 1958 and began teaching there in 1962. Smith continues to teach there in the Department of Painting and Drawing. The collection contains artwork for over thirty children's books.

Collection consists of mounted black and white and color reproductions of Italian painting, predominantly from the 13th-16th centuries, which has been transferred to and available at the Yale University Art Gallery. Content varies from original photographic prints to reproductions from magazines and other published sources. Some sections have accompanying clippings folders.

The collection consists of dissertations written in partial completion of the requirements for the Yale School of Drama Doctor of Fine Arts degree.

The collection includes typescripts of Lynn Riggs's scripts and other writings; correspondence and subject files regarding Lynn Riggs and other Lucy Kroll Agency business associates and activities; Lucy Kroll Agency contracts and agreement files; and a small number of Lynn Riggs's personal items.

Writings, notes, and subject files document Vieth's career as a student and professor of Religious Education at Yale. Paul Vieth was a Yale Divinity School professor in the field of Religious Education from 1931 to 1963.

Collection contains correspondence, writings, and other papers documenting the life and professional activities of author Ethan Mordden from the late 1960s to 1991. Correspondence, dating from the mid 1980s and early 1990s, contains letters from writers, actors, musicians and composers, publishers, and others, including Walta Borawski, Frank Ferko, Philip Gambone, Boze Hadleigh, Ron Hussman, Joey Manley, Kit Reed, and St. Martin's Press. Writings in the collection consist of notes and drafts for two novels, a book of film criticism entitled Medium Cool: The Movies of the 1960s (1990), and shorter works, including plays, stories, and essays. The novels "Welcome Home, Adam" (1970) and "The Friends of Lady Butch" (circa 1973-1975) are identified as Mordden's unpublished first novel and an unfinished Hollywood novel respectively. Other papers include a small amount of printed and Yale University course material.

The William Collection of Circus Photographs featured a wide array of images from mostly the 1940s to 1970s, documenting circus life. It shows not only animal and human performers, but features behind the scenes images that give a greater view into what life was like for those who traveled with the group every year.

This collection comprises costume and set design drawings by Edgar Hockley depicting late-Victorian London stage productions. Also present are theatre programs and clippings from the same period.

The Gordy Collection of Circus Photographs featured a wide array of images from mostly the 1900s to the 1940s, documenting circus life. It focuses primarily on the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus, and shows not only animal and human performers, but features behind the scenes images that give a greater view into what life was like for those who traveled with the group every year.

Student notebooks, writings, lectures given at the Yale Medical School, photographs, and memorabilia relating to Osborne's professional career. The largest part of the papers consists of the lectures given at Yale between 1924 and 1925. Also included is a matriculation book from Leipzig University (1884-1885) and other notebooks, printed matter, and speeches on medical subjects. Several photographs show views of Berlin and other parts of Germany.
