The records consist of correspondence and administrative records of the curator of the Map Collection at Yale University Library. Also included are photographs of Map Collection materials and staff.

The collection consists of photographs documenting the construction of Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale. Included are pre-construction views, construction progress views, and completed interior and exterior views. Also included are photographs of the opening ceremonies and reception.

The bulk of the material is from the 1960s and early 1970s, and includes correspondence, departmental and organizational files, research files, and publications. There is little mention of Barghoorn's arrest by the Soviet government in 1963, except for a brief summary of the incident in a letter to Pat Briggs dated November 10, 1965.

The largest part of the papers is comprised of research materials and manuscript drafts for Erwin Goodenough's major work, Jewish Symbols in the Greco-Roman Period (published 1953-1965), as well as materials relating to The Politics of Philo Judaeus: Practice and Theory.

The collection documents Hughes' military career during and after World War II, his 1962 senatorial campaign, his tenure as co-chair and chair of the National Committee for a Sane Nuclear Policy (SANE), his academic career and writings, and his personal life.

Homer Daniels Babbidge was born in 1925 in Weston, Massachusetts, and raised in New Haven, Connecticut. He graduated from Yale University in 1945 with a degree in political science and subsequently earned his master's and doctorate from the same institution. Babbidge became president of the University of Connecticut in 1962 and remained in the office until his retirement in 1972. His years at UConn were among the most productive, and the most turbulent, in the University's history. Homer D. Babbidge died in 1984.

The papers consist of correspondence, topical files, lecture notes, production files and prompt books, typescripts and manuscripts, photographs, costume and set drawings, and printed material documenting Frank McMullan's career in educational and professional theatre.

Emilio Q. Daddario was a Connecticut congressman in the United States House of Representatives from 1959 to 1970 who was active in committees on scientific research and aerospace. He was a 1939 graduate of Wesleyan University and practiced law in Connecticut prior to running for office. He served as mayor of Middletown, Conn. from 1946 to 1948.
