The papers include the correspondence, writings, and memoirs of Celia Kamenetzky Shapiro and her husband, Boris Shapiro. Most of the papers are in Russian, with some Yiddish- and English-language material as well. Correspondence includes letters and postcards, primarily from the 1930s, to Celia and Boris Shapiro from friends and colleagues in Prague and Paris. Celia Shapiro's diaries and memoirs describe her journey to England, Germany, and the Soviet Union, with interesting observations on Jewish life in Germany in 1936. Writings about Celia Shapiro include book manuscripts and the memoirs of Boris Shapiro. There are also issues of various Soviet emigre publications, and photographs of the Shapiros and their associates. Celia Kamenetzky Shapiro, also known as Tsilia Savel'evna Shapiro and Tsili Kamenetskaia-Shapiro, was a young Russian, Jewish revolutionary associated with the populist Socialist Revolutionary party in the early years of the twentieth century. She emigrated to the United States prior to World War I. Shapiro returned to the USSR for a visit in 1936, writing about her trip in the New York Yiddish-language newspaper The Jewish Daily Forward.

The papers consist of correspondence, articles and printed materials, reports, notes, papers, sermons, subject files, writings, and other papers documenting the life and career of Luther Allan Weigle, dean of the Yale Divinity School and scholar of religion.

The Jamestown Tercentennial Exposition was held in Hampton Roads, Virginia, April 29 to November 30, 1907, to celebrate the three hundredth anniversary of the first English-speaking colony.

The collection consists of correspondence, receipts and other records that document business and commerce in the vicinity of Dawson, Yukon Territory, in the early twentieth century. The bulk of the material spans the dates 1906 to 1913, with one letter from 1903. The Bank of British North America correspondence documents the activity of the Dawson branch and includes correspondence from grocers, wholesalers, miners, jewelers, and insurance and real estate agents. Landahl's Emporium correspondence documents the wholesale and retail purchase and sale of goods. The Canadian Department of the Interior Records consist of reimbursement receipts and receipts for mining permit fees, documenting the survey and inspection of mining and timber resources in Yukon Territory.

Letters, writings, and memorabilia document Macintosh's life and work. Douglas Clyde Macintosh was Professor of Theology at Yale from 1909 to 1942.

Correspondence, writings, memorabilia, scrapbooks and printed matter chiefly concentrated in the years 1910-1923. The correspondence includes photocopies of thirteen letters from Woodrow Wilson to Hale (1911-1915) discussing various aspects of United States foreign policy. Between 1913 and 1914, Hale travelled in Central America as Woodrow Wilson's special emissary to Mexico and then to Nicaragua. His letters to his wife during this period describe the political upheavals in those countries and his opposition to United States recognition of the Huerta government in Mexico. Also of note are three letters from Sigmund Freud in which Freud discusses the proper use of psychoanalysis in connection with Hale's just published study of Woodrow Wilson. Other important correspondents include William Jennings Bryan, John Burroughs, Thomas Hardy, Oliver Wendell Holmes, William Dean Howells, H. L. Mencken, Theodore Roosevelt and George Bernard Shaw. There is only a small sampling of his writing and one sermon. The largest part of the collection is made up of scrapbooks and printed matter (1914-1923), reflecting Hale's position during World War I as a secret agent of the Germans. Included are pro-German periodicals and pamphlets published before the United States entry into the war and post war pamphlets on the question of German war guilt and the Versailles Treaty.

The bulk of the papers date from 1935-1963 and reflect Clark's position as reporter on the United States Supreme Court's Advisory Committee on Rules for Civil Procedure (1935-1956) and as associate judge of the Court of Appeal for the Second Circuit (1939-1963). The papers contain his files for the Committee on Rules for Civil Procedure including preparatory papers, committee proceedings, rule draft reports and correspondence. His years on the Second Circuit Court are documented with complete case and motion files, docket books and correspondence. Also in the papers are extensive research files on law administration, automobile accidents, Puerto Rican courts and the reorganization of state departments in Connecticut. Clark served on Connecticut commissions in 1935-1936 and 1949-1951. His voluminous correspondence (ca. 9 feet) with local and political figures spans the years 1920-1963 and includes Benjamin Cardozo, Felix Frankfurter, Augustus Hand, Learned Hand, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Milton Friedman, James W. Moore, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harlan Stone. There is only a small amount of personal correspondence or papers from his law school career, either as student, professor or dean. There are, however, family records, financial papers, account books, photographs, biographical newspaper clippings and a bibliography of his work compiled by Solomon Smith in 1968.

James Luitweiler (1890-1982) was born and raised in York, Pennsylvania and the Yucatan peninsula (Mexico, 1906-1911). An international lawyer and businessman, Luitweiler served as Secretary to the American Land Commission Canal Zone in 1913.

The papers contain correspondence, sermons, notes, writings and memorabilia of Elias D. Weigle, minister of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
