Andre Schenker was born in 1897 and received his education at the Connecticut Agricultural College (UConn) and Yale University. He was a professor of history at UConn from 1928 - 1965.
The papers contain correspondence, writings, photographs, and other papers concerning the lives of such Russian émigrés to the West as Mark Aldanov, Ivan Bunin, Marc Chagall, Alekseĭ Remizov, and N. A. Tėffi.
This collection consists of monographs, clippings, pamphlets, e-mail correspondence and other materials related to the city of Jedwabne, Poland, the murder of the town's Jews in July 1941, and Jewish-Polish relations in general. Of particular interest are the materials related to a memorial ceremony on July 10, 2001, honoring the murdered Jews of Jedwabne.
Letters from Andrew Jackson Davis, author and spiritualist to William Green, Jr., his benefactor. The letters deal with personal, family, and financial matters as well as Davis' work with spiritualism and healing.
The collection deals mainly with Andrew Faulk's official duties in Dakota Territory as governor and superintendent of Indian Affairs, and as clerk of the United States District Court. There are also family papers spanning most of his life.
Andrew J. Beck, also known as Andrzej Beck, was an engineering executive who worked in several American engineering companies, where he was responsible for the Eastern European trade during the Cold War years. Beck was born in Poland and was 13 years old when World War II began. He left the country with his mother, Maria Slominska, at the end of September 1939, escaping the Germans and Russians. He is the only son of Jozef Beck, the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs before WWII. The collection consists of memoirs written by Andrzej Beck for his family, and a DVD of a TVN Polish television production about Jozef Beck. A CD includes interviews with Andrzej Beck and people who were close to his father, Mr. Jozef Beck, during WWII. Andrzej Beck passed away on July 20, 2011, in Fairfield, CT.
Chiefly memoranda, outlines, notes, bibliographies, newspaper clippings, and other materials relating to the courses in bibliography that Keogh taught at Yale University from 1924 to 1938. There is also a small amount of personal correspondence, 1898-1916.
The collection contains autograph letters, signed, written by Andrew Lang to acquaintances and colleagues, a photograph of Lang, and a small group of autograph manuscripts.
