Records of the New Haven Music Club

Records related to a series of 12 articles printed by UOP Transportation Equipment Group, Aerotherm Division, in their "Executives' Digest" newsletter in conjunction with Litchfield's 250th anniversary in 1969.

The Myrtle Odlum papers consist of material pertaining to South Windsor history, news, events and organizations and the Odlum family, including topical files of newspaper clippings, mostly dating from the 1970s and 1980s; South Windsor's Main Street prepared for an application for National Historic District status; and Odlum family papers. Myrtle Odlum (1912-2007) was born and lived in South Windsor, CT.

The personal papers of Nan Ferguson Heminway (1920-2006), whose professional career spanned 50 years. She took up permanent residence in 1971 in Litchfield and decorated many historic homes. She was extensively involved with historic preservation, the Garden Club, and the Litchfield Historical Society.

Photostatic copies of letters written in the form of a diary by Nathaniel Hobart to members of his family on trips to the West and the South, 1837-1838. Principal cities described are New Orleans, Washington, D.C., and Niagara Falls. As a Swedenborgian, he also comments on religion and philosophy.

A deed from Nathaniel Smith 2nd of Litchfield to John Tallmadge of Warren under the firm of John Tallmadge and Company for 65 acres of land in the westerly part of Litchfield with the buildings thereon. Witnessed by Henry Wadsworth and Moses Seymour, Justice of Peace.

The collection contains administrative records, publications, newspaper clippings and fliers documenting the work of the Rhode Island Chapter of the National Organization for Women.

Mrs. Clarence F.R. Jenne, who also served as the organization's first president, organized the Hartford Colony of the National Society of New England Women January 1, 1921. The object of the Society was to bring together in social relations, women of New England ancestry to engage in educational, patriotic, civic, and philanthropic work.
