Personal papers and research materials on Italian-Americans in Hartford, Connecticut, of a newspaper editor, funeral home director, security guard, and advocate for all things Italian.

The collection consists of writings, correspondence, research and teaching material, photographs, printed material, audiovisual material, computer disks, and other papers, documenting the literary and academic career of Gerald Robert Vizenor and relating to many of his published works on Native American literature, history, and culture.

The papers consist of materials relating to George Peabody Wetmore and his family. Correspondence and other papers document the lives of several of Wetmore's ancestors and reflect his interest in New England history. The papers also include letter books and account books of the mercantile firms of Prosper Wetmore & Brothers and Joseph and Joshua Grafton.

Correspondence, writings, records of astronomical expeditions, diaries, notebooks and scrapbooks of David Peck Todd, astronomer and teacher at Amherst College from 1881 to 1917. Between 1882 and 1914 Todd conducted nine expeditions to various parts of the world to study solar eclipses. The notes, photographs, drawings and memorabilia of these expeditions make up a significant portion of the papers. He was also a fertile inventor, and plans and drawings for many devices, some related to solving technical problems encountered on his expeditions are included in the papers.

The Philip Rose Papers consist of correspondence, notes, contracts, photographs, drawings, printed material, and audiovisual recordings documenting the work of theatre producer Philip Rose. Rose's production files comprise the bulk of the collection, documenting the shows he produced in varying degrees of detail; the productions Purlie Victorious, Purlie, A Raisin in the Sun, Shenandoah, and Split Second are particularly well documented. Files for most productions include legal and financial documentation, scripts, scores, photographs, casting notes, lists of personnel, correspondence, marketing materials, playbills, and reviews. Audio and visual recordings chiefly document the original production of Shenandoah, but also include recordings of Purlie and You Shouldn't Have Told. The collection also includes drafts of Rose's 2004 memoir, You Can't Do That on Broadway!: A Raisin in the Sun and Other Theatrical Improbabilities, as well as other papers documenting Rose's career such as awards and memberships.

Contains letters from Masefield to various people, including Florence Hardy (mainly about her husband, Thomas Hardy), Joyce King, Elkin Mathews, and C. K. Ogden; manuscripts of poems by Masefield; photographs of Masefield; and articles about him.

The major portion of the papers consists of research materials for a study of the architecture of Yale University; research materials on Connecticut architecture, railroad stations, and Works Progress Administration files for Connecticut; and research for Carroll Meeks's book on Italian architecture, published in 1966. Included in the materials on Yale are photographs, articles, manuscripts, notes and bibliographies. Additional papers reflect Meeks's teaching career at Yale University (1930-1966) and his membership in organizations dedicated to architectural preservation. His correspondence includes letters from a number of notable art historians. Prominent among the correspondents are James Ackerman, Turpin C. Bannister, Kingman Brewster, James Marston Fitch, Siegfried Giedion, Maynard Mack, Denis Mack Smith, Lewis Mumford, Richard Neutra, Robert Rosenblum, Paul Rudolph, Vincent Scully, Sir John N. Summerson, Christopher Tunnard, and Rudolf Wittkower.

Stewart Brett McKinney, Congressman from Connecticut's Fourth District, was born in Pittsburgh, PA, 30 January 1931. McKinney served as a State Representative in Connecticut's General Assembly, 1966-1970 and was a minority leader of the State House of Representatives, 1969-1970. McKinney was first elected as a Republican from the 4th District to the 92nd Congress on 3 November 1970, and was re-elected 8 times, 1972-1986.
