The collection, assembled by the rare book dealers Jenny Allsworth and Humphrey Winterton, brings together photographs, photograph albums, glass lantern slides, and a lantern projector, which document the Sultanate of Zanzibar and European colonial expansion in East and Central Africa from 1870 to 1914. Also documented are early Arab and Portuguese coastal settlements at Kilwa, Mafia, Pemba, Sofala, and Zanzibar. The collection also represents the work of certain photographers who operated in different parts of the region, including C. Vicente of Dar es Salaam, Coutinho Brothers of Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam, P. De Lord Brothers of Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam, Walther Dobbertin, and A. C. Gomes & Co. of Zanzibar, among others.

Collection consists of manuscripts, typescripts, photographs, and other documents relating to fishing, flies for fishing, and fishing trips taken in England and North America. Most of the items were formerly in the collection of David Wagstaff.

The Tomas Venclova Papers document the life and work of Lithuanian poet, scholar and professor Tomas Venclova. Correspondence documents Venclova's relationships with Lithuanian and Soviet literary figures and political dissidents, including letters from Joseph Brodsky and Czesław Miłosz. Venclova's personal life and family relationships are also documented in the correspondence. Venclova's work as a poet, scholar, and translator is documented in drafts of writings that include holograph drafts of poetry. His work as a human rights activist is documented in the subject files, which include files on Adam Michnik and Liudmila Alekseeva. Photographs include personal and family photographs as well as photographs of conferences, readings and other professional travel. Audiovisual material includes recordings of poetry readings and lectures. Printed material includes reviews of Venclova's works and articles about Lithuanian politics and culture in the 1990s. Electronic files consist chiefly of e-mail. Other papers include personal documents, awards and honorary degrees.

This collection concerns the planning and construction of Phase II of the Science Center, completed in 1970. The building is now known as the Exley Science Center.

Music, correspondence and other papers, photographs, and additional materials by and about the German composer Paul Hindemith (1895-1963).

The papers primarily document Park's work as Professor of Sacred Rhetoric (1836-1847) and Professor of Christian Theology (1847 to 1881) at Andover Theological Seminary, and as editor of Bibliotheca Sacra from 1844 to 1884.

Barry Moser had already established a reputation for himself as the premier American engraver of woodcuts in the 20th century before he turned to working primarily on designing and illustrating children's books. Moser has worked on over 200 books. He is the winner of an American Book Award. Barry Moser takes an active role in the design of any book that he illustrates, often contributing to type choice, layout, and cover design.

The Queer Zines, Magazines, and Newspaper Collection includes printed ephemera and publications documenting the development of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities in their own voices. Includes mass circulation and small press publications.

The Queer Periodicals Collection contains over 490 different gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender periodicals published between 1966 and 1998. The bulk consists of English-language titles from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, though examples from the European continent, Russia, and Israel are also present. The extent of each title may vary from a single issue to several complete (or near-complete) volumes. The collection is arranged into three separate series by size, and alphabetically by title thereunder

The Candida Scott Piel Papers document a socially active gay and lesbian culture, centered in New York City, around the turn of the twenty-first century. The papers include subject files, printed materials, writings, ephemera, and audiovisual materials. There is particularly substantive material on AIDS and AIDS treatments, "the circuit" culture, the Jewel Box Revue, and events organized by Piel, mainly as fundraisers for organizations such as the American Foundation for AIDS Research.
