The papers consist of correspondence, short writings, notes, memorabilia and printed matter. The correspondence is largely made up of letters commenting on Freeburg's writings on Elizabethan drama and Hesselius. Other writings relate to ciphers and codes. Also in the papers is a scrapbook containing memorabilia of Freeburg's years at Yale together with a play entitled Sunset, produced at Yale in 1908 and acted in by Sinclair Lewis. A second scrapbook (1905-1913) reflects Freeburg's early career teaching at the U.S. Naval Academy, the College of the City of New York and contains copies of his writings and speeches.

The papers consist of materials pertaining to three generations of members of the Foote family of Marlborough, principally Asa Foote (1728-1806), his son Joel Foote (1763-1846), the children of Joel Foote and their spouses, and other relatives. Asa, a farmer by trade, and Joel Foote, a clothier and merchant, were both well to do and prominent political figures in Marlborough Society in Colchester and in the town of Marlborough.

This collection includes research notes and drafts for Carol Hardin Kimball's contribution to Tidewaters of the Connecticut River, an Explorer's Guide to Hidden Coves and Marshes by Thomas Morley, 2000. Local subjects include notable persons and families; the history of steamboats, shipbuilding, river commerce, slaves, cemeteries and gravestone carvers, and special geological and ecological features. She was a conservationist and avid kayaker.

Portraits created by Will Wilson of Native American artists, arts professionals, and leaders as well as others, 2012-2018. Wilson created the images using a wet plate collodion process that produced tintypes on sheets of aluminum. He then gave the tintypes to the sitters after he created high-resolution digital scans of the objects. The 303 inkjet prints in the collection derive from the digital scans of the tintypes.
