The collection consists of photograph albums, lantern slides, and photographic negatives documenting Oastler's interest in wildlife and conservation, from 1909-1938. The 68 photograph albums document the Oastlers' trips to the West and elsewhere. Approximately 6400 lantern slides, most of them hand-colored, were used for Dr. Oastler's lectures on the West, and include nine panoramic lantern slides.

Ex Libris Club records, 1912-1951

Formed in 1912, the Ex Libris Club was a social organization of employees of the State Library and the Supreme Court. The Club held parties and picnics, sent cards and flowers, attended weddings and christenings, published an internal newsletter entitled the State Library Echo, and kept scrapbooks of members and activities. In 1951 employees disbanded the club and formed the State Library and Supreme Court Club, 1951-1986.

James Rowland Angell personal papers, 1833-1986, bulk 1880-1947

Correspondence, which makes up the bulk of the papers, together with writings, speeches, reports, printed matter and photographs. The family correspondence contains a long series of letters (1890-1894) from Marion Isabel Watrous before her marriage to Angell in 1894. Prominent among his professional correspondents are Charles Bakewell, John Dewey, William James, A.H. Pierce and George Dudley Seymour. Also included are papers relating to Angell's inauguration as president of Yale University and his term of office. Additional papers include minutes and reports of the Rockefeller Foundation and of the General Education Board (also endowed by Rockefeller funds) on both of which James R. Angell served as member and trustee. The minutes and reports of the General Education Board document its support for various programs to reorganize general education in the United States and to improve education for women, blacks and children. The minutes of the Rockefeller Foundation detail its support for research projects in the natural sciences and the humanities.

The papers consist of personal and professional files which document Ernestine Wiedenbach's childhood, student days at Wellesley College, and career as a faculty member in the Yale University School of Nursing, where she directed the nurse-midwifery educational program. The papers include correspondence, dating from her retirement in 1966 and writings relating to her professional career. Also present are diaries spanning almost her entire life, excluding the years she spent on the Yale faculty.
