Collection of manuscripts, in multiple hands, primarily documenting Clarendon's financial activities. Many of the items are acknowledgments of debts, including one appointing Sir Robert Clayton and John Morris to act as his attorneys in order to pay interest out of his shares of the New River Waterworks to his debtors; a legal document and several receipts acknowledging Clarendon's debts and payments to others arising from shares in the New River Waterworks; and three pages of financial accounts and calculations related to those debts and payments. Other items include a request to Clayton for a copy of his father's deed settling Clarendon House on Richard Boyle, Earl of Burlington, explaining that he is weighing offers of purchase from John Granville, Earl of Bath; Christopher Monck, Duke of Albemarle, and William Cavendish, Earl of Devonshire; a letter to Clayton asking him to appoint a house where they can meet with Richard Boyle and Alan Brodrick, 1st Viscount Midleton; and another to Clayton thanking him and John Morris for a bill of credit and promising him a gift of fruit trees, including some varieties not yet in England.

Collection of 28 letters and other documents, many written to John Pym and all concerned with military activities of the Parliamentary army during the English Civil War. Numerous writers request financial assistance, food, clothing, and arms for their soldiers, including Alexander Carew, who asks for money and arms to combat an uprising in Cornwall; Sir William Balfour, who requests back pay for his services as commissary and captain of a troop in Ireland and requests two months' advance for his soldiers, or else they will be unable to subsist; and William Jephson, who begs Pym to be as active for him in Parliament as his soldiers have been on the field, and who are now in rags without enough food to eat. Other letters report on threats of armed uprisings and on the movements of King Charles I as well as the movements of Queen Henrietta Maria at The Hague.

The collection comprises 57 letters from Dante Gabriel Rossetti to Ellen Heaton written from 1855 to 1875 (the bulk from 1855 to 1864). The letters primarily pertain to works by Rossetti, including a number of his works commissioned by Heaton. Works referenced include: Beata Beatrix, Beloved, Bethlehem Gate, Dante's dream at the time of the death of Beatrice, Dante's vision of Rachel and Leah, How Sir Galahad, Sir Bors and Sir Percival were fed with the Sanct Grael; but Sir Percival's sister died by the way, Joan of Arc, Mary in the house of St. John, Salutation of Beatrice, and St. George and the Princess Sabra. The letters reflect Heaton's reputation as an important collector and patron. Rossetti recommends (and, in some instances, requests) that she acquire work by many other artists associated with the Pre-Raphaelites, including Arthur Hughes, William Holman Hunt and Ford Maddox Brown.

The collection comprises 11 letters from Dante Gabriel Rossetti to William H. Clabburn written from 1863 to 1865. The last of these is addressed to Clabburn's wife, Hannah Louisa. The letters are accompanied by 8 envelopes addressed to Clabburn by Rossetti. Rossetti's letters primarily relate to Clabburn's commission of an oil replica of Rossetti's Mary Magdalen at the door of Simon the Pharisee. The correspondence records in detail Rossetti's artistic process pertaining to this work. In his letter on 6 July 1865, Rossetti provides an extensive interpretation of the work.

Dryden P. Morse was a heart surgeon who practiced in Philadelphia and then at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in New Jersey. A pioneer in the use of pacemakers, he was an expert on the technology of pacemakers and invented several improvements.
