The New Haven women's liberation activist group with 858 plaintiffs' on March 2, 1971 filed a lawsuit against the state of Connecticut challenging the anti-abortion law. The case was heard by a three-judge District Court panel. On April 18, 1972 the court ruled 2-1 that Connecticut's anti-abortion law was unconstitutional. Governor Thomas J. Meskill in May 1972 by proclamation called the Connecticut General Assembly into special session to pass a new law against legal abortions. The three-judge panel on April 26, 1973 ruled 2-1 the new law was unconstitutional. The Connecticut General Assembly's Regulations Review Committee did not vote for or against Department of Health regulations governing legal abortions. In taking no action the regulations took effect by default on February 25, 1974.

Also included are voluminous mail from members of her reading public and memorabilia, both objects sent by admirers and items collected by her on her travels. The death of Charles Lindbergh in 1974 is documented by mail from friends, members of the public and organizations. Anne Morrow Lindbergh's writings make up the largest part of the papers and include her diaries (1929-1972, 1982-1988), drafts of her books, working notebooks, speeches, articles and stories, and published reviews of her work. Barney E. Daley (1909-2008) was a South Windsor, Connecticut native who grew up in a tobacco farming family. As an amateur archaeologist, Daley amassed a large collection of Native American artifacts. He served in Europe during World War II and returned to South Windsor after the war. He was a historian, preservationist, and collector on various topics including local Anglo and Native American history, tobacco farming, and veterans affairs. The bulk of the materials are more than 5,000 archeological artifacts, including Native American projectile points, pottery shards, and tools. In addition, there is location data for almost all of the artifacts about where they were found. The photographic collections include photos of Daley's life in South Windsor and during World War II, slides of archaeological digs, and historical images of South Windsor, the region, and its residents, some of which came from the photo departments of local newspapers.
