The papers consist of personal and professional correspondence, writings, notes, teaching materials, subject files, audio tapes and other papers of Leonard J. Savage (1917-1971), mathematician, statistician, author, teacher, and professor at Yale from 1964-1971. The papers relate primarily to Savage's work in the field of statistics, especially Bayesian statistics, and includes extensive correspondence with many of his professional colleagues from around the world. Also included is a large collection of the writings of the Italian mathematician, Bruno de Finetti, material relating to an exhibit on "Animal Odorants" done for the Peabody Museum of Natural History, and the papers of I. Richard Savage and the Savage family.

The papers consist of clippings, court documents, correspondence, publications, interview transcripts, writings, and other materials documenting the research, writing, and activism of Frank Donner. The collection includes a small amount of Donner's correspondence, multiple files documenting the activities of individuals who served as political informers, and subject files covering a range of political and social protest groups from the 1950s to the 1990s. The papers also hold a series of Donner's writings, including manuscripts from two unpublished books on the use of informers in the 1950s and of government malfeasance during the 1980s, as well as several unpublished articles.

The Betsy Jolas Papers include music, correspondence, writings, teaching materials, programs, clippings, journals, calendars, photographs, sound recordings, awards and other materials by and about the composer Betsy Jolas. The first series in the collection contains manuscript and printed scores by Jolas and by other composers (1958-2006). Some of Jolas' scores are accompanied by production notes, scenarios, and libretti, and many of the scores she collected contain annotations. The second series contains correspondence (1937-2010), both personal and institutional. Jolas corresponded with notable figures from the American and French Avant-Garde, such as Pierre Boulez, Elliott Carter, Henri Dutilleux, and Darius Milhaud, all of whom are represented in this series. The third series contains teaching materials that Jolas used in her lengthy career as a university instructor. The fourth series, Writings (1963-2009), contains similar material, and also includes a "lesson in poetics" given to a young Jolas in 1940 by James Joyce. Series five (1943-2010) consists of programs for concerts, festivals, and award ceremonies, and Series six (1949-2009) contains related publicity materials and press releases. Series seven contains pocket calendars and personal journals; the latter are restricted until the death of Betsy Jolas. Series eight (1926-2006) includes both professional and personal photos of Jolas and others. Series nine is comprised of degrees earned by Jolas, and awards given to her, including the Legion d'Honneur (1996), and the Ordre National du Mérite (2001). The final series includes sound recordings and media in a variety of formats: test pressings, reel-to-reel tapes, cassettes, CDs, and DVDs. The recordings include a number of performances of Jolas' compositions, as well as interviews and lectures. Note that this series is organized by format.

The collection consists of correspondence between Roman Galinski, who immigrated to the U.S. in 1922, and other prominent political figures in Poland, who were sympathizers of Narodowa Demokracja, the nationalist Polish political party. Mr. Galinski was himself very active in various political organizations and wrote extensively on the issue of Polish politics and nationalism, sometimes under the pseudonym Miroslaw Kosinski. He was a great opponent of Jozef Pilsudski and his political party and was devoted to Roman Dmowski and his political views of Narodowa Demokracja. The collection includes photographs of local Polish American prominent figures, as well as a dozen or so antisemitic publications from pre-war Poland.

The Czesław Miłosz Papers document the life and work of the poet, essayist and Nobel Laureate Czesław Miłosz. The papers consist of writings, correspondence, photographs, personal papers, audio material, and printed material (including newspaper clippings, printed ephemera and clandestine samizdat publications), spanning the years 1880-2000, with the bulk of the material dating from 1940 to 1989. While some writings, photographs and personal documents pre-date the Second World War, the earliest correspondence dates from 1946.
