Abstract Or Scope
The records consist of files maintained by Yale Architectural and Engineering Services (and its predecessors) concerning the construction and maintenance of Yale facilities. Included are minutes, correspondence, reports, and other records documenting zoning and taxes, building permits, contractors and bids, billing, personnel, energy conservation, biological safety, and alterations.
The materials consist of design, preliminary, working, shop, and "as built" architectural drawings and maps of buildings and grounds owned or used by Yale University. The drawings range from original concepts to full scale details of equipment and ornamentation. The media vary from water colors, pen and ink sketches, pencil on tracing paper drawings to blueprints and photostats.
The Architectural Survey of Litchfield, Connecticut (2012-32-0) consists of individual survey reports on houses and buildings in Litchfield, 9 survey maps, and 8 acetate copies of George Browne's Map of Litchfield, created during the 1930s-40s (copies are availalble for study as is a key to these maps which is with the accession records). The Greater Litchfield Preservation Trust conducted the architectural survey in 1986-1987. The Greater Litchfield Preservation Trust in a volunteer group that funds preservation studies and invests in historic buildings in Litchfield. It began in an effort to save the 19th century post office building.
Collection consists of medium format mounted black and white and color reproductions of architecture worldwide. Content varies from original photographic prints to reproductions from magazines and other published sources. Some sections have accompanying clippings folders.
The Archiv des Verein zum Schutz deutscher Einwanderer in Texas, contains correspondence, contracts of appointment, minutes of meetings, reports, and instructions from and to the Adelverein's representatives in Texas and elsewhere; documentation of legal and financial transactions; and papers relating to promoting the Adelsverein, securing prospective emigrants, and providing for their transport to Texas. The archive also contains a major collection of printed material relating to the Adelsverein and European colonization in the Americas. They are supplemented by scores of contemporary newspapers and periodicals which contain articles about or advertisements for the Adelsverein.
The papers reflect Bouhuys' professional career as a specialist in lung disease. He was active in many organizations and was called upon as a consultant by legislative committees, trade unions, and manufacturers' groups both in the United States and Great Britain. The papers consist of correspondence, 1963-1979; research and organization files, 1951-1979; writings, 1965-1979; and a small amount of personal papers, 1957-1979. These papers form part of the Contemporary Medical Care and Health Policy Collection.
