The papers consist of correspondence and writings which document Abraham Robinson's professional life and work. Draft and printed copies of Robinson's books and papers comprise the bulk of the papers. Student memorabilia, diaries, and biographical material are also included in the papers.

Diary kept by Albert Dodd while at Yale College (1836-1837) describing his relations with men and women, a manuscript of his poetry (with printed engravings of Hoboken and Manhattanville), and three letters to his family from Bloomington, Illinois (1841-1844) where he had gone to practice law. The letters describe modes of travel, hunting, the habits of wolves, and conditions of health and hygiene in the area. Included also is Dodd's obituary from the Hartford Daily Times, June 1844.

Personal and professional papers, notebooks, and photographs of Albert E. Waugh, Professor and administrator at the University of Connecticut from 1924 until his retirement in 1965. Materials document his career, political activities, research interests and retirement.

Correspondence and writings of Albert Jay Nock, author and editor. Also included are writings and correspondence about Nock (mainly materials collected by Robert Crunden for his book on Nock, The Mind and Art of Albert Jay Nock, Chicago, 1964), and materials concerning Ruth Robinson, a close friend of Nock; in fact, the larger part of the collection consists of correspondence between Nock and Miss Robinson. Important correspondents include H. L. Mencken, Ellery Sedgwick, Brand Whitlock, Newton D. Baker, Jacques Barzun, Lewis Mumford, and John Dos Passos.

Diaries of Albert Lemuel Judd, Katharine Wells Judd, Ethel Gardiner Judd and notes from the diaries of Albert Dunham Judd, members of a New Britain, Connecticut family involved in manufacturing and active in community affairs. The papers also include five memo books and three miscellaneous documents.

Correspondence, diaries, bills, receipts, legal papers, genealogical notes, and miscellanea concerning the Allis family of New Haven, Connecticut, and members of the Colton, Stockbridge, and Foote families, 1840-1895.

The papers consist of a journal, clippings, a printed article and other items of A. B. Brown, a physician. The journal and clippings record Brown's experiences as a member of the Frederick A. Cook expedition to the Arctic in 1894, while the article and a letter are concerned with the work of the Yale Mission in New Haven.

The papers consist of correspondence, legal papers, diaries, estate records, account books, notebooks, deeds, and miscellanea of the Alsop family of Middletown, Connecticut. Several generations of family members are represented in the papers including: Joseph Wright Alsop (1772-1844), Joseph Wright Alsop (1804-1878), Joseph Wright Alsop (1838-1891), Joseph Wright Alsop (1876-1953), Mary Alsop Oliver Alsop (1815-1893), Richard Alsop (1726-1776), Richard Alsop (1789-1842), Charles Richard Alsop (1802-1865), and John De Koven Alsop (1879-1926). Family mercantile interests in Connecticut and related operations in Bolivia, Chile, and Peru are documented. Files relating to a legal case involving the firm of Alsop & Company, the United States government, and the governments of Bolivia and Chile (1865-1914) are included. The personal papers of several family members are also arranged in the papers.

Sermons, speeches, diaries, and commonplace books of Amos Sheffield Chesebrough and four letters from Joseph Hopkins Twichell. The diaries were kept during a trip to Europe in 1857 in which Cheesebrough visited London, Heidelberg and other German cities. The sermons, which make up the major portion of the papers, span the period when he was pastor in churches in Chester, Glastonbury, Vernon and Durham, Connecticut.
