The Order of the Founders and Patriots of America was incorporated in New York on March 18, 1896. The terms of eligibility require that every member must be descended in the male line of father or mother, from an ancestor who settled in one of the original thirteen colonies within fifty years from the settlement of Jamestown, VA, May 13, 1607.

Orville Hitchcock Platt was a teacher, lawyer, newspaper editor, probate judge (1853-1856), clerk of the State senate (1855-1856), secretary of State of Connecticut (1857), Connecticut legislator (1861-1862, 1864, 1869), state's attorney for New Haven County (1877-1879), and United States Senator (1879-1905) from Meriden, Connecticut. Included in his papers are correspondence, writings, reports, speeches, scrapbooks, memorials, and photographs.

Orwell S. Chaffee (1807-1887) was a silk manufacturer in the Mansfield/Willimantic area of eastern Connecticut. Son-in-law to Joseph Conant, he worked in, and later managed, Conant's silk mill until 1838 when he purchased property in Chaffeeville and established his own silk mill. The collection contains correspondence, receipts and invoices addressed to Mr. O.S. Chaffee.

Founded in 1964 by Robert Hawley and Stevens van Strum, the Oyez Press initially produced a series of poetry broadsides by such notable figures as Robert Duncan, Robert Creeley, William Everson, Gary Snyder, and Charles Olson. Although van Strum left in 1968, Hawley continued on with the press in his spare time, eventually publishing over 80 books in addition to numerous keepsakes and broadsides, featuring authors such as David Meltzer, Josephine Miles, Lew Welch, Philip Lamantia, and many others. Oyez publications were highly regarded for the simplicity and elegance of their design; many were produced in collaboration with printer Graham Mackintosh.

The collection consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings, performance programs, and photographs, as well as some audio recordings and ephemera pertaining to the Paranov family and their involvement with the Julius Hartt Musical Foundation.

Books and poems by author Patricia Hubbell. The collection contains more than a dozen of Hubbell's works, as well as correspondence, notes, manuscrips, and dummies produced during her career.

Contains notes, correspondence, photocopies of genealogical works, and miscellaneous genealogical research on the Flowers and Moulton families and related lines.

Correspondence and documentation relating to urban renewal, transportation, and parking in downtown Hartford at the end of the twentieth century.
