Papers relating to the Grant family of Litchfield, including Hannah Grant (1785-1871) and her children Charles William (1810-1881), David McNeil (1812-1885), Harriet Lucretia (1814-1892), and John Mason (1817-1878). The collection is mostly comprised of family correspondence, but also includes various school lessons and papers, family account records, and real estate records.

The collection consists of material stemming from Matthew Stadler's activities as an author, editor, and literary organizer, and includes writings, correspondence, business papers, ephemera, journals, teaching material, computer disks, and three laptop computers.

The papers reflect Bouhuys' professional career as a specialist in lung disease. He was active in many organizations and was called upon as a consultant by legislative committees, trade unions, and manufacturers' groups both in the United States and Great Britain. The papers consist of correspondence, 1963-1979; research and organization files, 1951-1979; writings, 1965-1979; and a small amount of personal papers, 1957-1979. These papers form part of the Contemporary Medical Care and Health Policy Collection.

The Donald Lyons papers consist of writings by Lyons, including film and theater criticism; personal and business correspondence, including letters from Danny Fields and Roger Darrobers; notebooks; personal papers and artwork; academic papers; photographs of friends, including Edie Sedgwick; videocassettes of "Theater Talk" and "Inside Broadway" programs; and computer files.

The collection documents the career of twentieth-century American writer James Reid Parker, including his collaboration with cartoonist Helen E. Hokinson and his trusteeship of her estate. It includes drafts and printed versions of Parker's writings for The New Yorker and Woman's Day, as well as correspondence documenting his professional work, and personal correspondence and papers documenting his family relationships, family history, and military service with the Publications Branch of the Military Intelligence Service during World War II. In addition to correspondence regarding Hokinson's estate, the collection includes approximately forty-five drawings by Hokinson, chiefly for The New Yorker.

The Philip Barry Papers document Barry's development and career as a playwright, from his earliest production at Yale in 1919 to his final work in 1949. The Papers are composed chiefly of Barry's notes, sketches, and drafts of his plays, materials relating to the production and publication of his plays, and correspondence with friends, family, fans, and colleagues in the worlds of theater and literature. Additional materials are also present, including scripts of plays by other authors, college and workshop notes, press clippings, and pamphlets and photographs relating to professional and social organizations.

The Rachel Carson Papers Addition contains correspondence, writings, photographs, artwork, ephemera, and printed material of Rachel Carson. The bulk of the material documents Carson's childhood and family.

The papers contain correspondence, family papers, diaries, sermons, photoprints, and other materials documenting the personal lives and professional careers of Joseph Dresser Wickham, Elizabeth Cooke Merwin Wickham and several Wickham, Merwin, Porter, and Roe relatives. The Wickham family papers have extensive material on such family subjects as relationships between brothers and sisters and parents and children, courtship, death, marriage, and the difficulties endured by stepmothers and clergymen's wives and on secondary education in the mid-nineteenth century, missionary work, religious conditions in Vermont, and Connecticut social life and customs.

The collection documents the educational and related extracurricular activities of students and teachers at the Gilbert & Bennett School.

The records consist of minutes of meetings, financial records, correspondence, exchange agreements, and publications arrangements which document the founding and continuous activities of the Connecticut Academy of Arts and Sciences. The records also contain data gathered by the academy, during the early nineteenth century, on weather, population, health, and geography.
