The papers consist of correspondence, writings, notes, research files, and printed material which document Fred Rogers Fairchild's career as an economist, consultant, and author. Fairchild's work as a tax adviser to Connecticut, the territory of Hawaii, and Santo Domingo are represented, along with his studies of finance and taxation in the Northeastern states, the insurance and forestry industries, and post-World War I Europe. Fairchild's activities as a teacher of economics and a member of the Yale faculty are less fully illustrated. Many files concern Fairchild's activities after retirment from Yale, including his authorship of a textbook for high school students entitled Understanding Our Free Economy, and his interests in conservative causes.

The papers reflect Lane's diplomatic career from the time he entered the service in Rome (1916), until his resignation as Ambassador to Poland (1947), and contain correspondence from international political figures. Also included are materials relating to his work on behalf of Poland, anti-communism, and the Republican Party.

The collection consists of photographic prints, negatives, art prints, drawings, paintings, silhouettes, postcards, and motion picture film created or collected by Charles Augustus Lindbergh and Anne Morrow Lindbergh. The collection primarily documents the life and interests of Charles Augustus Lindbergh and Anne Morrow Lindbergh, including childhoods, aviation and writing careers, expeditions and travels, and families. The bulk of the pictures document Charles Augustus Lindbergh's career in aviation, including his airmail service, barnstorming, historic solo transatlantic flight in the Spirit of St. Louis, and post flight interest in him by the media. The collection also provides researchers some of the earliest aerial views of the Southwest United States, Mexico and Latin America, Canada, Japan, China, and North Atlantic regions taken by the Lindberghs during their scientific aerial explorations and travels; documentation of the aviation industry including pioneers, early airplanes, air fields, and the use of aviation in the military, particularly during World War II. Additional photographs depict various immediate and extended Lindbergh, Land, Lodge, and Morrow relations as well as friends and acquaintances.

Charles Schuchert papers, 1859-1943, bulk 1884-1943

The papers consist of correspondence, financial papers, diary, a manuscript autobiography, photographs and memorabilia. The major part of the papers is made up of Schuchert's professional correspondence while curator of the geological collections at the Peabody Museum at Yale (1904-1923). Subsequent correspondence is related to his work in the field of paleontology. Also in the papers is the incoming correspondence of Charles Emerson Beecher, Schuchert's predecessor at the Peabody Museum. Schuchert's autobiography (ca. 300 pages) was first written in 1917 and revised in 1940. His photograph albums contain pictures of geological expeditions (ca. 1890-1910) as well as personal and family pictures.

Nine diaries written by Harold Thomas Fuller Husted (1883-1956) while a Yale College student, 1904-1908, and as a graduate student, 1908-1909. Diaries are numbered 10 through 18. Also included are diplomas for his BA degree, 1908, and his master's degree, 1909. The diaries document Husted's college years in New Haven and summers at home in Westfield, NY with weekly entries. Husted consistently notes lectures; games; Yale sports, including baseball; undergraduate student life; epistolary relationships with women; the behavior of the family cat "Chimmie Fadden"; train travel; and the news.
