Correspondence and printed material concerning the business affairs of the Consolidated Gold Fields of South Africa, the economic development of South Africa, and the Jameson Raid; together with articles and speeches (1893-1934) relating to Hammond's activities as a speechmaker in behalf of the Republican Party, organizer of the National League of Republican Clubs, special ambassador and representative of President William Howard Taft to the coronation of George V, king of Great Britain, and vice-president of the Boys' Clubs of America. Includes photostatic copies from the papers of Richard Olney, concerning Hammond's part in the Jameson Raid. Also included is a two volume set, The Autobiography of John Hays Hammond. Photographs of Hammond and his home are included in the papers.

Correspondence on the Rasey, Morgan, and Gallup families. Also correspondence related to the estate of Harriet Vincent Stacy's father, Zacariah Vincent.

The records consist of the first campus police report logs and register of Willis G. Wiser and a policies and procedures manual documenting the Yale Police Department.

The general corrspondence of John Lawrence Thurston, missionary in China and active member of the Yale Foreign Missionary Society, makes up the major portion of these papers. The main topics are his work in China, including his interest in the Yale Missionary Band and the organization of the Yale Foreign Missionary Society. Major correspondents are Harlan Page Beach, Henry W. Luce, Edward B. Reed, Warren B. Seabury, Anson Phelps Stokes and Arthur C. Williams. His scanty family correspondence is supplemented by the correspondence among his surviving family members after his death. Also in the collection are photographs and other memorabilia.

The papers mostly consist of entries from William Winter Dean's diaries, and original letters written by him to various family members, particularly covering his years in the United States Army during World War I. There is also a notebook of letter transcripts, photocopies of photographs, and biographical information on Dean prepared by his two daughters.

The archives consist of annotated topographic maps of Texas (dated 1894-1929), stratigraphic sections from New Mexico and Texas, locality catalogs from Mexico (Sonora and Las Delicias), locality information from northern Africa (from his time with AOSP - American Overseas Petroleum), and negatives of brachiopods pictured in his dissertation.

Correspondence, memoranda, writings, and diaries relating to his career with the U.S. Forest Service. Two reports: "The Survey of Industrial Forestry in the United States" (1928-1931) and "Problems and Progress of Forestry in the United States" (1942-1946) are the subject of most of the correspondence. Major figures in the correspondence are Henry Solon Graves, Philip P. Wells, R. E. Marsh and Shirley W. Allen. The diaries (1914-1923) record Munger's professional travel observations. The addition includes diaries and correspondence that document Munger's personal and family life.

Collection of concert programs.

The materials consist of photographs and glass negatives documenting student life and activities at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies (called the School of Forestry prior to 1972), including classroom activities, field trips, summer camps, and alumni events. Also included are pages from the photograph albums of several students.
