Arthur Benjamin Calef, Wesleyan class of 1851, served in a variety of governmental positions in Middletown and Middlesex County, Connecticut and in the state as a whole, as well as being a delegate to the National Republican Conventions in 1860 and 1864.

Correspondence, writings, subject files, account books, photographs, an album of postcards, clippings, and printed matter of Arthur Bernhard Recknagel. The largest part of the collection is made up of papers, speeches, and reports by Recknagel and others on forestry. Also included are records of the St. Regis Paper Company for which Recknagel had been forestry consultant and a number of reports prepared by the Committee on Conservation and Management of Natural Resources of the National Association of Manufacturers (1952-1958). The small amount of family correspondence dates from 1951-1956.

The papers consist of official, personal, and business correspondence, articles, speeches, clippings, recordings, photographs, and other papers of Arthur Bliss Lane, career diplomat, public servant, and lecturer. The papers reflect Lane's diplomatic career from the time he entered the service in Rome (1916), until his resignation as Ambassador to Poland (1947), and contain correspondence from international political figures. Also included are materials relating to his work on behalf of Poland, anti-communism, and the Republican Party.

The papers consist of correspondence, research materials, and writings on Woodrow Wilson, Commodore Perry's expedition, and American diplomacy at the end of World War I. Correspondence with biographer Phyllis Levin is included in the papers.

The Arthur Davison Ficke Papers document the personal lives and literary interests of Arthur Davison and Gladys Brown Ficke. Major correspondents include Witter Bynner, Floyd Dell, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Edgar Lee Masters, and John Cowper Powys. In addition to manuscripts of Ficke's own works, the papers contain manuscripts of poems by Witter Bynner, Edgar Lee Masters, and others.

The papers consist of correspondence relating to Arthur Ebbert's tenure as associate dean of the Yale University School of Medicine. The papers include a topical file on student unrest over May Day, 1970 at Yale.

The papers consist of correspondence, notes, manuscripts, and subject files from Arthur Frederick Wright's teaching career at Stanford University and at Yale University, his research on Chinese history, and his work for the Association for Asian Studies and the American Council of Learned Societies' Committee on Studies of Chinese Civilization. The papers also include personal correspondence of the Wright and Clabaugh families. There is minimal material documenting Mary Clabaugh Wright's career.

The collection consists chiefly of correspondence to the piano duo Arthur Gold and Robert Fizdale. Correspondence, dating from the mid 1950s to the end of their professional career in the early-mid 1980s, includes large files for Fizdale's family and their mutual friend Harold Talbott, as well as small files for writers, artists and performers, cultural figures and philanthropists, and others. Correspondents include: Brooke Astor, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Elizabeth Bishop, Eleanor Clark, Alice Esty, Sir John Gielgud, Peggy Guggenheim, Fairfield Porter, Jeremy Robbins, and Dorothea Tanning. Other papers include manuscript material, photographs, printed ephemera, and material relating to the couple's book on Sarah Bernhardt.

The papers consist of correspondence, writings, and general files that document Arthur Howe Jr.'s service as Yale admissions dean, tenure on the Board of Directors of Hampton Institute, and family history.
