Documents and other college materials of Kathleen Garrity, class of 1926

The collection contains papers given on various topics associated with the Institute in 1927.

The papers consist of correspondence, writings, and teaching materials of Ralph Henry Gabriel. The papers relate primarily to Gabriel's duties as editor of the Pageant of America Series and the Library of Congress Series in American Civilization, as author of history texts, as chairman of the American Historical Association's 1930 program committee, as author of several texts, and as faculty member at Yale University and at the United States School of Military Government. Also included are records kept by Sydney K. Mitchell as chairman of the Yale History Department, miscellaneous papers of Paul Demund Evans, and papers of Samuel Flagg Bemis, Christopher B. Coleman, and William K. Boyd as chairmen of the American Historical Association program committee (1927-1929).

The papers consist of correspondence, writings, notes, clippings and photographs of Alvin Saunders Johnson. Although records relating to his career are relatively scanty, two manuscript drafts of his autobiography, Pioneer Progress, are among the writings. The correspondence of some 1,700 letters includes: Max Ascoli, Jacob Billikopf, Gerhard Colm, Agnes DeLima, Thomas E. Dewey, Eduard Heinmann, Edith Johnson, Corliss Lamont, Adolphe Lowe, Thomas Mann, Harry Scherman.

The papers consist of correspondence, business records, maps and records of various forest conservation organizations in Connecticut and North Carolina, where James Goodwin carried on his lumbering operations. His activities in the conservation associations and as field secretary of the Connecticut State Park Forest Commission is documented in correspondence, reports, minutes of meetings and records of plantings carried on by the organizations. The maps show Goodwin's holdings in various parts of Connecticut and Carthage, North Carolina.

The scrapbooks document Yale barn parties and other activities of the Yale Club of Montclair, New Jersey.

Personal and professional papers, notebooks, and photographs of Albert E. Waugh, Professor and administrator at the University of Connecticut from 1924 until his retirement in 1965. Materials document his career, political activities, research interests and retirement.

The materials consist of photographs, posters, and renderings of set designs and contact sheets documenting Yale School of Drama productions, including performances at the Yale Repertory Theatre, events, and individuals.

The records consist of correspondence, reports, minutes, drawings, and subscription lists documenting the activities of Yale committees, such as the Lecture Committee, Committee on University Publications, Committee on Memorials, and the Committee on Faculty Appointments.

The papers consist of correspondence and professional papers concerning Chauncey Louttit's teaching and administrative duties, his tour in the Navy during World War II, his publication activities, and his duties as editor of Psychological Abstracts. The papers cover his years at Indiana University, 1931-1940; the controversy with president Asa S. Knowles while he was dean of Sampson College, 1946-1947; his deanship at the Colesburg undergraduate division of the University of Illinois; and his chairmanship of the psychology department at Wayne State University.
