The collection consists of material created and accumulated by Larry Fagin, stemming from his individual and collaborative work as a poet and editor, and, as well as his work as a teacher, filmmaker, artist, choreographer, and journalist. It also documents his personal and working relationships with other poets and writers associated with the New York School. Material includes correspondence, printed material, typescripts of poems, essays, translations, and film scripts, publicity material for readings, lectures, and publications, interview transcripts, teaching files, collages, an 8 mm motion picture, and other material. The bulk of the collection consists of files compiled by Fagin according to correspondent and/or subject, including extensive files for Glen Baxter, Bill Berkson, Jack Collom, Clark Coolidge, Michael Friedman, John Godfrey, Naropa Institute, Ron Padgett, Poetry Project at St. Mark's, Judith Reifman, and Anne Waldman, among others.

The Larry Goodell Papers, which span from 1954 to 2016, contain correspondence, writings, business records, posters, audiovisual materials, electronic media, printed material, and other papers by or related to Larry Goodell and Duende Press. The papers contain writings of Larry Goodell as well as correspondence, poetry, and other writings from many poets with whom Goodell had personal relationships or business connections through Duende Press. The records of Duende Press document business dealings between 1968 and 2008, primarily in the form of writings submitted to the press from a variety of poets. Photographs and audiovisual materials,spanning 1968 to 2013, make up the smallest portion of the collection and primarily document poetry readings and performances by Goodell and other regional poets from the Southwestern United States.

The collection consists of correspondence, writings, printed material and other papers that document the life and work of the poet Leonard Bacon. Correspondence is both professional and personal, and documents Bacon's writing and publishing activities as well as his personal and family relationships. Writings include drafts and proofs for many of his published works including Ulug Beg (1923), Lost Buffalo, and Other Poems (1930), The Furioso (1932), Dream and Action (1934), and Semi-Centennial (1939), as well as works translated by Bacon, such as Luis de Camões's The Lusiads (1950). Printed material includes several boxes of printed versions of Bacon's poetry and other writings, as well as pamphlets, reprints, newspaper clippings, and ephemera collected by Bacon. Other papers include three scrapbooks documenting Bacon's career from 1923 to 1946, as well as a small quantity of personal documents and photographs.

The papers contain personal and business correspondence, writings, personal papers, and financial records documenting the life and work of the American actress and author Mary Kennedy. Correspondents include her husband American composer Deems Taylor, authors Laura Benét, Pearl S. Buck, and Edna St. Vincent Millay, composer Samuel Barber, fashion designer Valentina, and colleagues from the theater world including Katharine Cornell, Lynn Fontanne, Margalo Gillmore, Helen Hayes, Clare Kummer, Annie Russell, and Marjorie and Roland Young. Family members well represented in the papers are Kennedy's mother Josephine Kennedy Maher, and her brothers James and Foster Kennedy, the latter also an author. Mary Kennedy wrote plays, novels, short stories, poetry, and children's books, and her papers contain drafts, corrected typescripts, and printed versions of her works. Also present are portrait photographs by some of the leading artists of the time, including Arnold Genthe, Ben Magid Rabinovitch, and Edward Steichen, and an autograph manuscript score by Samuel Barber for incidental music to accompany Kennedy's One Day of Spring (1935).

The Matthew Jennett papers contain subject files, sound recordings, and other material documenting the life and work of Matthew Jennett as editor of Pharos Books. The subject files feature correspondence, writings, and printed ephemera relating to publication projects with Pharos Books. There are files for authors, publishers, and designers, including Bob Cato, Franz Douskey, Peter Ganick (of Potes & Poets Press), Leslie Lee, and Jonathan Williams (of the Jargon Society), Patrick Leigh Fermor, among others. Files also contain examples of fine printing by small presses such as the Ives Street Press. Sound recordings collected by Jennett consist of nineteen 78 speed albums containing radio broadcasts dating from the 1940s. There are programs from the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) and the Columbia Workshop, including "Emma Lazarus," from the "Eternal Light Series" held at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City, and "They Burned the Books," a radio drama written by Stephen Vincent Benét.
