The papers of Lee Friedlander include photographs, correspondence, work files, book projects, printed materials, awards, objects, audiovisual materials, and computer disks documenting his career as a photographer, including his work process, exhibitions, publications, business activities, and honors. Photographs include color slide portraits of musicians; black and white slides; exhibition prints of western landscapes; and work prints corresponding to exhibition prints held by the Beinecke Library, Yale University, and the Yale University Art Gallery. The collection also includes personal papers documenting his relationships with family and friends, in particular his wife Maria Friedlander.

While all of these documents are represented in the collection, they are not all represented by each company.

The papers consist of correspondence, writings, printed material, photographs, audiovisual material, and personal papers that document the life and work of playwright, editor, and activist Ron Whyte (circa 1942-1989). The largest series, Writings, includes drafts and circulating versions of dozens of works of drama and prose by Ron Whyte, including many unproduced plays. The documentation of Whyte's writings also includes material from his time as a student, spanning from high school to graduate study at the Yale School of Drama and the Union Theological Seminary. The papers also include a substantial quantity of audio recordings of dramatic works written or produced by Whyte. Other material, including subject files and unsorted papers, documents the varied and prolific career of Whyte, including his advocacy for people with disabilities.

Pforzheimer Papers contain personal correspondence, diaries, writings, notes, and family papers; correspondence, reports, and other documents relating to the United States Army during World War II, the Central Intelligence Agency, the CIA's Historical Intelligence Collection, and the United States Defense Intelligence College; historical manuscripts and related materials collected by Pforzheimer concerning the history of military intelligence, including autograph documents, signed, by European heads of state and American presidents, seventeenth-twentieth centuries; prints, posters, and newspapers, including rare seventeenth-twentieth century items relating to Molie?re and other subjects; framed oil paintings and prints; book collecting notes, lists, vendor receipts, and card catalogs; rare postage stamps, including propaganda and forgeries; photographs, glass and film negatives, glass stereographs, and photograph albums; video and audio recordings, including interviews with Pforzheimer and presentations by him; microfilms; computer disks; and objects collected by Pforzheimer, including Molie?re medals, military decorations, and memorabilia relating to his intelligence career.

Samuel Barrington letterbooks, 1778-1779

Two letterbooks of incoming correspondence kept by Admiral Samuel Barrington during his command in the West Indies as Rear Admiral of the White. Correspondents include members of the Admiralty Board; junior officers; Admiral John Byron, who superseded Barrington as commander; officers of the French Navy, including Admirals de Bouillé and d'Estaing; government officials from various West Indian islands, including Valentine Morris of St. Vincent's and William Mathew Burt of St. Christopher; and Lord George Macartney, governor of Jamaica.
Subjects include Barrington's secret orders to attack St. Lucia; intelligence on the French fleet and preparations for the battle of Grenada; prisoner exchanges with the French Navy; the defensive requirements of the British West Indies and the fears of the inhabitants; and Barrington's plans to return to Great Britain in July 1779. Other correspondence includes routine messages concerning provisions, shipping, and the welfare of Barrington's sailors.
