Bruce Nugent's correspondence consists of family, professional, and personal correspondence, including letters from homosexual love interests. Writings include poetry, short non-fiction pieces, and various fiction pieces, including the novel Gentleman Jigger. Writings by others include drafts and papers relating to Gay Rebel of the Harlem Renaissance by Thomas H. Wirth. Photographs consist of portraits and snapshots of Nugent, his love interests, friends, and family. The bulk of the audiovisual materials consist of interviews with Nugent. Printed materials include books inscribed to Nugent as well as various clippings and ephemera.

    The papers of Lewis Lloyd include correspondence, writings, business records, photographs, artwork, audio tapes, video tapes, printed material, production programs, posters, books and ephemera. The papers document his work between 1962 and 1989 in a number of professional positions: as owner of the off-Broadway Pocket Theater; manager of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company; general manager for the Brooklyn Academy of Music; program director for the New York State Council for the Arts; and as a consultant to television and radio stations, dance companies and art museums in the Northeast. Lloyd also was an avid collector of theatre and dance memorabilia. Along with his personal papers are books, production programs, posters, photographs and other materials documenting the history and productions of Alvin Ailey, Ballets Russes, the American Ballet Company, New York City Ballet, Twyla Tharp, as well as dancers and choreographers.

    Collection of 262 fliers for punk rock music and new wave music shows, tours, and related events in the San Francisco Bay Area, 1978-1986, as well as a few examples outside the region, 1981-2010. A local art professor collected the fliers that document portions of underground culture in the San Francisco Bay Area that influenced and reacted to the music scenes. The fliers are chiefly monochrome photocopies usually on 8.5-by-11-inch paper with graphical and textual elements. The guide to the collection identifies acts and venues as well as dates for shows and events.

    The papers consist of correspondence, writings, printed material, photographs, audiovisual material, and personal papers that document the life and work of playwright, editor, and activist Ron Whyte (circa 1942-1989). The largest series, Writings, includes drafts and circulating versions of dozens of works of drama and prose by Ron Whyte, including many unproduced plays. The documentation of Whyte's writings also includes material from his time as a student, spanning from high school to graduate study at the Yale School of Drama and the Union Theological Seminary. The papers also include a substantial quantity of audio recordings of dramatic works written or produced by Whyte. Other material, including subject files and unsorted papers, documents the varied and prolific career of Whyte, including his advocacy for people with disabilities.

    The Nina Berberova Papers consist of correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, personal papers, memorabilia, and printed materials. The correspondence consists of personal letters from such famous Russian emigre writers and artists as Georgii Adamovich, Ivan Bunin, Zinaida Gippius, Roman Gul', Georgii Ivanov,Aleksandr Kuprin, Dmitry Merezhkovsky, Vladimir Nabokov, Aleksei Remizov, Gleb Struve, Marina TSvetaeva, Boris and Vera Zaitsev. There are 67 letters and 9 cards from Vladislav Khodasevich to Berberova, written during the 1920s and 1930s. There is also a voluminous correspondence with scholars of Russian literature.The writings consist of holographs, typescripts, and research notes or publication material for most of Berberova's major books and shorter writings. Material from her years in the United States (1950-1993) predominates. Her autobiography, Kursiv Moi, and her biography of Moura Budberg, Zheleznaia Zhenshchina, are extensively documented. Also present in the collection are Berberova's diaries from 1960 through 1993, family photographs from the 1910s and 1920s as well as snapshots of Berberova with a number of contemporaries and friends, personal effects belonging to Khodasevich, tapes of radio and television interviews, and an audio tape of Berberova reading selections of her own poetry. The Vladislav Khodasevich Papers consists of a portion of Khodasevich's correspondence and writings preserved by Berberova. There are some notes, clippings, and ephemera that were separated from the printed componenet of the papers, as well as some annotated printed materials.

Some notes concern Mann's Doktor Faustus or works of other German authors. Correspondence with Joseph Angell, founding curator of the Beinecke Library's Thomas Mann Collection, concerns their shared interest in Mann, the Beinecke Library's Mann Collection, and White's research and academic career.

    Western film collection, 1911-2006

    The Western Film Collection consists of press kits, pressbooks, posters, photographs, souvenir programs and other materials that were distributed by film producers to movie theater operators to promote their films. The Western films represented in this collection are Western genre films, films set in the trans-Mississippi West, and/or films with Western characters. Press kits typically include advertisements prepared for submission to newspapers and magazines; black-and-white photographs of scenes from the films with credit information; printed booklets called pressbooks containing information about the film, actors, and other personnel; and posters for lobby display. Early press kits were called "campaign kits." While the majority of press kits included in the collection consist of foldered printed material, there are several examples of electronic press kits on compact disc. The Buddy Holly Story pressbook contains a "flexi disc" recording bound in.

The collection primarily documents Erdoes's activities between 1968 and 1999, and is useful for the study of his writing process and research interests, specifically his work with American Indian individuals and communities. His papers also serve as a resource for the study of the peoples, areas, and subjects that he chose to research and record, and are particularly useful for research about the American Indian civil rights movement, twentieth century American Indian spirituality and religious practices, especially among the Lakota, and American Indian cultural revitilization efforts during the latter half of the twentieth century.

Papers relating to political and counterculture activism document Fouratt's involvement with movements and events of the late 1960s and early 1970s, including the Youth International Party (Yippies) and the 1967 Central Park Be In. Papers relating to gay rights and AIDS document Fouratt's activism and work with organizations including the Gay Liberation Front and ACT UP. Papers relating to nightclub management document his work at Hurrah!, Danceteria, and other clubs, and papers relating to band management document Fouratt's work with a wide range of musical acts. Band demos and video recordings document new wave, rock, and punk acts that performed or sought to perform at clubs managed by Fouratt during the early to mid-1980s. Buttons collected by Jim Fouratt span a variety of political causes and many musical acts active during the 1980s. The collection includes images created by Brady during the American Civil War and documents the continual use of these images into the early twentieth century by Handy and his studio. The collection reflects the operations of the Brady and Handy studios in Washington, D.C., from the middle of the nineteenth century through the early twentieth century. It contains work by other photographers and other studios collected by Handy, as well as camera lenses and other photographic artifacts. A small group of papers document aspects of the extended Handy family history.

Galloway including maps, field notes, correspondence, and other papers related to mining and the development of real property in Park County, Colorado, circa 1872-circa 1970. The bulk of material in the collection relates to gold, silver, lead, zinc, and uranium mines, as well as the companies responsible for mining operations. The collection also documents the infrastructure of Park County, including roads and water works in the county seat, Fairplay, and the statutory town of Alma, as well as the communities of Bailey, Como, Grant, Guffey, Hartsel, Jefferson, Lake George, and Shawnee. It also details changes in areas that became ghost towns, including Antero Junction, Buckskin Joe (also known as Laurette or Lauret), Garo, Howbert, and Tarryall. The collection documents the surveying work of Galloway, as well as his predecessors in the regions, including Fred C. Morse, Lee Hayes, Hiram Phillips, and William H. Powless.

    The papers and photographs in this collection document the history and customs of the Piegan Indians (also known as the Blackfeet Indians) in Montana, and their contact with Europeans and Anglo Americans. The collection provides detailed information about McClintock's photographic practice, as well as his public presentations about the Piegan Indians. A significant part of the collection records the development and production of Poia, an opera based on Piegan Indian legends, composed by Arthur Finley Nevin, with a libretto by Randolph Hartley (1870-1931).

    The Peter Newell Family Papers consists of correspondence, manuscripts, printed material, photographs, drawings, paintings, prints, toys, and sculpture by or relating to Peter Newell and his family, including his sons-in-law Howard McCormick and Alfred Z. Baker. Correspondence files contain letters from artists, writers, and editors of the period; family in Kansas, Illinois, New Jersey; Clendenon Sheaf Newell at Cornell University; as well as family friends Frances Sage Bradley, Walter Karig and Charles Edward Smith. The collection includes over 3,000 sketches, preparatory drawings, finished illustrations, printed proofs and tearsheets for Newell's book and magazine work. Also included are 67 mammoth plate photographs of the American West and Mexico by William Henry Jackson, presumably acquired by Newell.

    The collection contains materials documenting the artistic, professional, and personal activities of Gerard Malanga. Materials include correspondence, research and subject files, drafts and printed versions of writings, photographic materials, audiovisual materials, printed materials, and artwork. There is correspondence with publishers and editors, galleries and cultural organizations, writers, friends, and family. The research files and writings document work by Malanga and others. There are drafts, autograph manuscript and typescript, of a great many individual poems by Malanga and more extensive, though scattered files for collections of poems and other book-length projects, such as Ten Years After (1977), This Will Kill That (1983), Mythologies of the Heart (1996), and Scopophilia (1985). Materials can also be found for projects that relate to Malanga's work as a photograph archivist for the New York City Parks Department, including books on Robert Moses and public swimming facilities in the city. Photographic materials include negatives, contact sheets, and prints, and feature portraits of writers and artists, chiefly American poets, dating from the late 1960s and early 1970s. Audiovisual materials include audiocassettes, reel-to-reel sound recordings, and optical media, including readings and performances by Malanga and others. Printed materials include posters, issues of magazines, clippings, and ephemera.

    The Glenway Wescott Papers consist of correspondence, journals, notebooks, manuscripts, personal and financial papers, research files,photographs, graphic items, clippings, objects, and audiotapes. The material documents Wescott's life, work, and personal relationships with many noted artists, writers, and performers of the 20th century including his long-time companion, Monroe Wheeler, many of whose papers are included here.
    Series I, Correspondence, consists of six subseries: Wescott-Wheeler Correspondence (letters between the two men); Wescott Family Correspondence; Wescott Family Third-party Correspondence; Wheeler Family Correspondence; General Correspondence; and Third-party Correspondence.
    Series II contains Wescott's Journals and Notebooks, an extensive collection of personal records detailing the author's life and thoughts from the late 1930s up to shortly before his death. Wescott's "journals" are in the form of three-ring binders, filled with notes, clippings, copies of letters, and images.
    Series III, Writings, represents a portion of Wescott's original works. The writings are divided into five subseries: General Writings (including drafts of an autobiography, "The Odor of Rosemary"); Writings about People; Lectures, Broadcasts and Speeches; Writings about Glenway Wescott; and Writings of Others.
    Personal Papers contains a range of material documenting the various activities of Wescott and Wheeler arranged in 18 subseries. Financial Papers, gathers together material in a chronological run, from 1925 through 1986. Series VI contains Wescott's own Research Files of various subjects. Photographs are grouped into ten subseries. Graphic Items consists of various image materials. Clippings covers a wide range of subjects, with a focus on art, book reviews, current events, essays and articles, and people. Series X, American Academy of Arts and Letters, concerns Glenway Wescott's membership in this organization, including the years of his presidency, 1960-62. Objects consists of pieces of realia received with the archive. Audio-Visual Materials is a collection of sound recordings and a videotape.
    Series XIII, Additions transferred from the Monroe Wheeler Papers, contains items relating to GW which came to light during the processing of the Monroe Wheeler Papers and which could not be easily integrated into the existing archival arrangement.

    The Adele Gutman Nathan Theatrical Collection Addition consists of letters, manuscripts, printed material, and photographs documenting the life and career of Nathan's life and achievement in the theater, as an author, as a journalist, and as a pageant producer. Included in Series I are drafts of a children's book about Major John Andre, drafts of a novel, "What is a Man Profited," printed copies f newspaper columns by Nathan, motion picture scenarios programs for the Cellar Players and the Little Lyric Theatre, production materials for a number of pageants in such locales as Rochester, New York, Niagara Falls, and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
    Included in Projects in Series II are notes chronicling Nathan's participation in the motion picture, Reds. Among the correspondents in Series III are Fannie Hurst, Padraic Colum, Leon Kroll, and Eugene O'Neill. Series IV. and V. contain various personal papers, such as scrapbooks, and photographs.
    Series VI comprises items from Nathan's sister, Elizabeth Gutman Kaye, a painter and singer of folk songs.
    Materials in this collection also document the history of the Gutman family, Jewish merchants in Baltimore during the turn of the 20th century.
