Ledger with drawings, sketches, and watercolors by Kiowa Indians Koba and Etahdleuh Doanmoe, circa 1878-1885, while they were students at the United States Indian School in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, or imprisoned at Fort Marion in Saint Augustine, Florida. The ledger includes twenty-three pages of artwork attributed to Koba, four pages attributed to Doanmoe, and two pages of unattributed work.

John James Audubon collection, 1823-1898, bulk 1826-1840

The collection contains autograph letters, signed, written by John James Audubon to his wife Lucy Green Bakewell Audubon and colleagues, one of his engraved visiting cards, and autograph manuscript writings by Audubon and fellow naturalists Thomas McCulloch, Thomas Nuttall, and John Kirk Townsend. Prominent among the letters is one of 4,000 words from Audubon to his wife, written from Edinburgh in 1826, in which he describes exhibitions of his drawings and various social events, with a transcription of a phrenologist's reading that he had received. Also included are an 1898 letter from ornithologist Leonard C. Sanford to Sarah Manning Sage, the wife of collector Dean Sage, and a letter from John Woodhouse Audubon, son of John James Audubon, to A. J. Crossman. Prominent among the writings are 118 essays published in Audubon's Ornithological Biography (1831-39), describing plates included in his major work The Birds of America (1827-38), and an annotated pencil drawing of a petrel. Much of the material in the collection was formerly owned by William Robertson Coe.

The papers document the business and personal life of Nathan Judson, his brother James B. Judson, and his nephews Wilber, Lowell, and Paul. Correspondence and financial records document the activity of the firms Judson, Wiley & Judson and Judson Brothers in late nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century Michigan, and the Judson Brothers fruit growing business in Kinderhook, New York. Correspondence documents the buying and selling of Michigan real estate, mining investments in various western states and Mexico (including the Buck Eye Mining Company in Basin, Montana and the Sierra Mining Company in Ocampo, Chihuahua, Mexico), and the horticulture business in the Hudson Valley of New York State in the 1910s and 1920s. Other than correspondence, the collection includes fragmentary financial records (including bank records and cancelled checks) and real estate documents (including deeds and abstracts to holdings in Michigan).

William Faulkner collection, 1944-1966

The collection consists chiefly of writings, with a small amount of correspondence. Writings include drafts of works by Faulkner and writings of others. The correspondence consists of original letters between William Faulkner and the American writer Malcolm Cowley. Also included are papers concerning the Theatre Guild and Richard Meyers production of William Faulkner's play Requiem for a Nun.
