During his twenty-two years, he served on the House Budget Committee, the House Commission on Information and Facilities, the Joint Committee on Intelligence, the House Appropriations Committee, and its subcommittees on Department of Defense, District of Columbia, Treasury Postal Service and General Government, Legislative Branch, and Housing and Urban Development.

The Slow Loris Press was a independent non-profit venture headed by Anthony and Patricia Petrosky. The Slow Loris Press focused on publishing a poetry magazine called Rapport which evolved into a more wide ranging format with the start of the Slow Loris Reader (SLR) in 1978. The Press also published chapbooks and broadsides. It ceased operation in 1984 principally due to insufficient financial support.

In March of 1953, a Committee of Five was appointed by the standing committee of the University Senate (acting at the request of the administration) to investigate the charge that four members of the faculty, Paul Zilsel, Robert Glass, Harold Lewis, and Emanuel Margolis, were communists. Committee members included Fred A. Cazel, Jr., Harold G. Halcrow, C. Albert Kind, Arthur L. Wood, and Marcel Kessel as Chairman. In a unanimous report, the committee recommended to the Board of Trustees that all four faculty members be retained at the University of Connecticut.
