The Nicola Chiaromonte Papers consist of correspondence, manuscripts, clippings and notebooks documenting the professional life of Chiaromonte. Prominent correspondents include Lionel Abel, Andrea Caffi, Albert Camus, Mary McCarthy, Dwight MacDonald, Gaetano Salvemini, and Ignzaio Silone. Series II contains typescripts, notes and clippings of many articles by Chiaromonte, including several concerning the Spanish Civil War, as well as three boxes of his theater reviews. There are also over eighty notebooks kept by Chiaromonte from 1923 until his death.

Correspondence, documents, financial papers, printed materials and other papers relating to the Choctaw removal to lands in Indian Territory and claims made by the Choctaw Nation against the United States Government. Correspondence includes letters from David Folsom, Choctaw Chief, to missionaries Cyrus Byington and Cyrus Kingsbury while in Washington negotiating the treaty of 1825. He writes of the deaths of two chiefs on the trip, and of the illness of others who had overindulged in the entertainment offered by the United States Government. Letters to missionary Cyrus Kingsbury from Folsom convey his reaction to preliminary queries from the Government in 1818 and 1819 concerning Choctaw removal to the west. Letters from Thomson McKenney to Forbis LeFlore (1851-1853) concern their efforts as Choctaw delegates to Washington to settle claims arising from the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek. McKenney also writes to Peter Pitchlynn and receives letters from Pitchlynn (1848-1854) about his duties as a Choctaw delegate. The documents include many petitions, memorials, resolutions, and appointments of delegates for the settlement of the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek claims. There are also three drafts of the Choctaw Constitution, written presumably during the convention which drafted the compromise constitution of 1860.

The Frederick Mortimer Clapp Papers consists of personal and professional correspondence, writings, research material, lecture notes, subject files, diaries, and other papers documenting Clapp's activities as an art historian, educator, and poet as well as his personal and professional relationships. Writings include drafts and proofs for Clapp's various collections of verse and other works such as A History of the 17th Aero Squadron (1920) and The Frick Collection : Paintings : Summary Catalogue (1935). Amongst the extensive lecture notes and research material on various topics are some notes relating to Clapp's research on Pontormo and his work with The Frick Collection. Also found in the collection are the personal and family papers of Clapp's wife, Maud Ede Clapp, which consist of correspondence, diaries, writings and artwork.
