In 1975, the Office was abolished and its functions were assigned to the new Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Vice President of Finance and Administration. These functions were merged under the administration of the Chancellor in 1991. The name of the office changed from Chancellor's Office back to Provost's Office in 2000.
