Visual themes from material in this series appear in Steinberg's still lifes, faux documents, and satirical maps, among other works. Items in the series may provide insight into Steinberg's artistic practice, interests, and study of material culture. Most material in this series was likely purchased or collected from book and antique dealers, received as gifts, or picked up during Steinberg's travels. Some items with sentimental value are also included.
