Nieuwkerck represented the Marselis'
interests in Moscow in 1632.
The manuscript consists of two
parts, (1) concerning the Cossacks,
their laws, folklore and
relationships with the Crimean
tartars (ll. 1-13), and (2) a
description of the area of the
Kama river, with a map.

fearfull sound as the report of
many great Canons" at which it
grew "so darke filled with fire
and smoke and a filthy loathsome
stinch as of brimstone."
