The Special Reports series (1 linear foot) includes the presidential records of the Dahl Committee on Undergraduate Education (published as the Study Group on Yale College) and the Dominguez Study Commission on Governance. The Dahl Committee, headed by Yale Political Science Professor Robert A. Dahl, was appointed by President Kingman Brewster, Jr., in April 1971 to make recommendations on Yale College education. The files include background materials and reports, correspondence, drafts, and the final published report with annotated sections designated for the Yale Alumni Magazine. In 1969 Brewster appointed a Summer study group headed by Jorg Dominguez to begin addressing issues of governance at Yale University. The committee produced a series of position papers and recommended the formation of a sixty member governance commission. The files include background materials, drafts, correspondence, organizational documents, and final copies of the committee's position papers. The folders in this series are arranged alphabetically under each commission.
