Madeline Stanton suggested that this material may have been collected by Harvey Cushing's father, Henry Kirke Cushing.

Charcot asked that the recipient be extremely indulgent to young Vigues who is undergoing his examinations. He is the son of a good friend. Letter was the gift of John Fulton, 1959.
