frivolous") for not having controlled the Seris.

In the first letter he complains of being slighted
by the administration in Mexico City, and asks to
be transferred since they think he is useless. In
a postscript he blames the "vile Atanasio Ramirez"
if his previous letters have been delayed in being
delivered. The other letters concern accounts and
supplies, and include a request that holy
paintings and stained glass windows be sent
