The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) series documents Speth's administrative leadership of the UNDP between 1992 and 2000. The United Nations Development Programme is an organization that focuses on the eradication of poverty and assists in the development of policies, institutions, and leadership in countries with high levels of poverty. The organization also focuses on sustainable development to reduce policies that lead to human induced natural disasters and climate change. As the administrator of the UNDP, Speth oversaw several projects, including the Resident Coordinator Programme, and led the UNDP through the United Nations reform that happened in the mid-1990s. Materials in this series include meeting minutes, administrative memos, papers and speeches written by Speth, articles, publications, internal reports, travel documentation, and travel photographs, primarily of events and resident coordinator officers.
