Series II, Research Files, is organized in four subseries. Bibliography is arranged chronologically and by type of material. Biographical Files and Literary Estates are arranged alphabetically by type of material; Miscellaneous and Unidentified papers are chronologically arranged.

Box 15, Restricted Fragile Papers, contains fragile originals. The material is arranged in folder order and may only be seen with the permission of the appropriate curator.
