This folder contains a series of documents relating to the efforts of University of Connecticut students to spread awareness of the ties between the university's board of directors and various entities, both corporate and governmental, that either participate in or benefit from human rights abuses, with particular focuses on the ongoing struggle of African Americans, the university's connections to the mines of South Africa, and the continued presence of the United States military in southeast Asia.

This folder contains materials pertaining to a variety of movements, with particular focus on anti-racism movements, the abuse suffered by miners in South Africa, gay rights, Libertarianism, and the sharply increasing fees for students at the University of Connecticut.

This folder contains material pertaining to the National Student Strike which occurred in May 1970, during which students from universities and colleges across the country protested the presence of the United States military in southeast Asia. It also contains additional materials discussing an incident in which the University of Connecticut's Dean of Students Robert Hewes singled out and suspended a small minority of African American students out of a much larger group of protestors.

The documents in this folder consist mainly of efforts led by University of Connecticut students to participate in the National Student Strike, which took place in May 1970. Many of the folder's contents specifically discuss the racist practices and theories that existed within the infrastructure of UConn's faculty, particularly the Behavioral Sciences Department, while other documents advocate for the abolition of the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) on college campuses.
