The collection consists of material created and accumulated by Ron Padgett in the course of his work as a poet, translator, and editor. Material includes extensive correspondence with other poets and writers; manuscripts for Padgett's books of poetry, prose, and translations, as well as some juvenilia and early writings; and manuscripts for writings by others. Also included are "bokes," the term coined by Padgett to describe the "little unique editions" Ted Berrigan and he made for each other beginning in the 1960s, which encompass dozens of unique handmade works by Tom Clark, Anne Waldman, Bill Berkson, George Schneeman, Michael Brownstein, Larry Fagin, Tom Veitch, Aram Saroyan, Steve Carey, and Lewis Warsh, among others. Also found are notebooks, including numerous travel diaries, project notebooks, and personal journals; appointment books for the years 1971 to 2002; as well as teaching files; student papers; research material; printed material; and personal papers. The collection also contains files for White Dove Review, edited by Padgett, along with Dick Gallup and Joe Brainard, while they were high school students in Tulsa, and Full Court Press, edited and published by Padgett, Joan Simon, and Anne Waldman from 1974 to 1989.

The papers consist of correspondence, writings, printed material, photographs, audiovisual material, and personal papers that document the life and work of playwright, editor, and activist Ron Whyte (circa 1942-1989). The largest series, Writings, includes drafts and circulating versions of dozens of works of drama and prose by Ron Whyte, including many unproduced plays. The documentation of Whyte's writings also includes material from his time as a student, spanning from high school to graduate study at the Yale School of Drama and the Union Theological Seminary. The papers also include a substantial quantity of audio recordings of dramatic works written or produced by Whyte. Other material, including subject files and unsorted papers, documents the varied and prolific career of Whyte, including his advocacy for people with disabilities.

The collection consists of diaries and other writings, correspondence, photographs, and other papers documenting the lives of Dr. Rowland Willard and his wife Elizabeth S. Willard. Dr. Willard's diaries and autobiography chronicle in particular his travels through New Mexico in 1825.

The papers consist of correspondence, a small quantity of personal papers, and printed material relating to the life and career of Royal Cortissoz. Correspondents include Henry Bacon, Bernard Berenson, Joseph Duveen, John La Farge, Clarence Mackay, Whitelaw Reid, Edmund Clarence Stedman, William Winter, and other critics and friends. The personal papers include drafts of articles and lectures by Cortissoz and awards presented to him. Printed material includes copies of writings by Cortissoz, articles concerning him, and miscellaneous programs and invitations.
Also included are notes, memoranda and a sketchbook by John La Farge, collected by Cortissoz in the course of research.

The collection consists of reports, project documents, and technical drawings relating to water and sewage projects in California and Nevada, as well as other business and academic records documenting Roy Edwin Ramseier's career as a civil engineer between the 1950s and 1980s. Ramseier's papers document sanitation and water use in California and Nevada, particularly relating to suburbanization and small unincorporated communities. Ramseier also completed projects for private housing developments, government agencies, and businesses. The collection contains particularly thorough documentation of Beatty, Nevada and Valley Springs, California. There are also records relating to Squaw Valley, California, the site of the 1960 winter Olympics, where Ramseier worked on projects before and after the Olympic games.

The Rudolph Dunbar Papers document the professional activities of clarinetist, conductor, music critic, teacher and journalist Rudolph Dunbar. Series in this collection include Correspondence, Professional Papers, Photographs and Other Papers. Among those represented in the correspondence series include Coretta Scott King, Eslanda Robeson, and British parliament member Robert Allan. Professional papers include press releases, German propaganda of African Americans during World War II, and music programs from Dunbar's performancesas a music conductor. Photographs of independence day celebrations of former British colonies in Africa and the Caribbean make up a large portion of the photographs alongside highlights of Dunbar's music career as a conductor and teacher. Photographs also include dignitaries and celebrities of the day such as Kwame Nkrumah, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Phillip and Jesse Owens.

The Russell Hoban Papers, which span from 1952 to 2011, contain writings from throughout Russell Hoban's lifetime including novels, children's books, poetry, and opera librettos. The papers also contain clippings, ephemera, photographs, audiovisual materials, and electronic media related to Hoban's life and work.

The Russell Lynes papers contain material documenting the career and personal life of American author and editor Russell Lynes. The collection contains writings, correspondence, photographs, and personal and family papers. Early gifts from Russell Lynes consist chiefly of writings, including drafts, setting copies, and proofs for works of the period, such as The Tastemakers (1954), A Surfeit of Honey (1957), Cadwallader (1959), The Domesticated Americans (1963), and Good Old Modern (1973). Later acquistions also contain writings, with some additional drafts for book-length works, though chiefly shorter works, as well as correspondence, photographs, and personal and family papers.
