The Greek Council is the governing body for all Western Connecticut State University social fraternities and sororities.

The Forum Club was founded in 1928 by Dr. K. Augusta Sutton, Professor of History and Government. The club provided an opportunity for those interested in public affairs to study and discuss them more fully than in a class situation. The club was affiliated with the International Relations Clubs program of the Carnegie Endowment Association for International Peace.

The Student Government Association (SGA), formerly known as the Student Cooperative Government Association and Cooperative Government Association (CGA), was established in 1928 by Lothrop Higgins, the second president of DNS.
