Historical/Biographical Note
The Still River reaches from Farrington's Pond in Danbury, CT to the Housatonic River and connects Sanford's Pond and Lake Kenosia. A concrete aqueduct was built near the downtown Danbury area in the 1970s. The hat and other industries in the area contributed to a high concentration of mercury in the river; however, efforts have to clean the river and it is currently used for recreational purposes.
