Content Description
The collection mainley consists of media guides for many of WestConn's teams going back to the middle 1970s but mostly from the mid-1980s onward. Most teams do not have media guides that are newer than the 2010s. There are a small number of team uniform pieces that have been transferred to the Archives included, as well as two Colonial Chuck costumes. The mascot changed from Indians to Colonials in 1974 and from Colonials to Wolves in 2022.

Biographical / Historical
WestConn had intramural athletics since its founding in 1903. The first athletic facility was a gymnasium on Old Main's first floor. In the 1930s, to attract male students, a mens basketball team was added among others added around that time and games were played agaist other colleges in the region. This lasted into the late 1950s and WestConn began pursuit of conference play. By 1970, WestConn had a football, baseball, softball, tennis, vollyball, soccer, and other teams playing teams aound the region.
