Scope and Contents

Ostergren appears to have collected local contemporary art. Materials transferred to WCSU in 2023 via bequest included works by WCSU faculty members, Robert Alberetti and Plonia Nixon. Additionally, there are other works which are similar to works that Alberetti collected for WCSU's Print Collection. Included also is a work by Alberetti's wife, Mary Lou, and by their son, Michael.

Biographical / Historical

Allan Ostergren was born in Queens New York and died at the age of 81 in Sherman, CT on May 2, 2023. He received an MA in History in 1979 from WCSU and lived in Westchester, NY and Sherman. He was a member of the Danbury Area Computer Society (DACS) and managed the Institute for Socio-Economic Studies. Ostergren was predeceased by his wife, Loes, who passed away in March of 2023.
