Content Description

The menus and accompanying materials in this collection were assembled in the 1950s through the 1970s when Krejci was a fundraising consultant. As a Rotarian as well, many of the meetings he attended while travelling were held at popular local restaurants where Krejci took the opportunity to collect the menus.

Biographical / Historical

Robert Krejci was born June 4, 1913, in Chicago and had a distinguished career as a consultant, fund raising counselor for non-profit community service organizations and was an active Rotarian.

Krejci attended Michigan State University where he graduated with honors in 1941. Krejci joined the Boy Scouts as a youth Chicago and it was a relationship that would last for much of his lifetime. He became an Eagle Scout in high school and a Scout Master and Hike Master during college. As a professional, he served as a Scout Executive for Councils in Chicago, Southern Illinois and West Virginia through the 1940s and 1950s. Krejci retired from Scouting in 1965 and joined the Cumerford Corporation as a professional fund-raiser and public relations consultant for not-for-profit groups. In that time he travelled around the United States as a consultant.

In later years, Bob was co-organizer of San Diego North County Philanthropy Council and established "Wordsmiths" for people who were interested in creative writing. Krejci joined the Rotary Club in 1950 and attended weekly meetings for over sixty years.

Robert Krejci, 98, passed away on December 12, 2011 in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
