Biographical / Historical

VINCENT SHERIDAN age 63, a life-long resident of Stamford, died suddenly on October 20, 2008. He was born on January 12, 1945 to the late Patrick and Sally Sheridan. He was a loving husband and father and devoted grandfather. He was a dedicated teacher in the Stamford School System for 37 years. His teaching career began at Burdick Middle School and has taught for the last several years at Cloonan Middle School. He also loved his weekends working at Sterling Farms Golf Course for many years. He served his country in the Vietnam War and received the Bronze Medal for valor. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mary Ryan and her husband Gerard, of Darien, and his brother in law Stanley Michalski of Norwalk. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Diane (Jara), his son Patrick and his wife Shelley of Ansonia, his daughter Jennifer of Stamford, and his son Michael and his wife Jaime of North Kingstown, Rhode Island. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren, Riley, Talia, and Nicholas, whom he adored. Surviving relatives also include his sister, Ann Michalski of Norwalk and several nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends on Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 4PM- 8PM at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 24 at 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford. Interment will be private.
