General note

General research notes from Colonial Records and Fairfield County Records on early colonial towns and their political and administrative structures. Specific research notes focus on the original formation and boundary survey of Danbury, and the annexation of Ridgefield. References to social history, fee simple land tenure, valuation and planning during 1725-1759. Focus also on electoral polls and ratable estate tax structures and valuation on meadowlands, cleared pastures, ploughed fields, under woods, and the introduction of individual town cattle brands "trainbrand" and militias.
