Transcript of the diary includes letters written to and from J. Shaw to the Brother John (J. Boyer), John Boyan, Peter Schoemaker, Mrs. E. Shaw, Wm. T. Scofield, Rev. H. Wing, Rev. Wm. M. A. Ferguson. Rev. Shaw was an itinerant Methodist preacher who traveled about in N.Y., Conn., and Mass. preaching the gospel. He was the minister of the Methodist Church at Redding Center from 1848-1849 and again in 1859. Stebbins, Dealia [1890] See Dean, Miss, above.
