General note
Ebenezer Baldwin was a young minister of the First Congregational Church in Danbury in 1775. Baldwin had a library of imported books that enabled him to draw up terms for Danbury's first Public Library "that should be free to all denominations." As a result Danbury was said to have one of the best town libraries in the State at the time of the Revolution. This file contains copies of personal correspondence, "Article of Agreement for Library" dated December 8.
