General note
Copy of original (160 pages). Contains Minutes of meetings and Annual Reports from 1826 to 1842. Combining religious, educational, and social functions, the Society met minor charitable needs in the community. The group was composed of unmarried women who gathered at private homes to make clothing, sing hymns, and socialize with the bachelors of the town in a respectable, Christian atmosphere.
