General note
Response to task force report, autonomy, schools and libraries, new courses, contracts, recruitment, need for more teachers, evaluation, teacher contracts, pay raises, and starting salaries. Increased staff, 12-month schools, reductions in staff from 1993 on, open education, and maternity leaves policy. Transition program, in-house training for staff, Park Avenue School opening, teacher contracts, sick leave money, health plan, British exchange teacher, full day kindergarten, homework, minority teachers and "divisiveness," Dyer vs. schools, in-house suspension, pregnant teens, video classes, binding arbitration, police in middle schools, drop-outs, discipline policy, "no teaching" effect, remedial work, and early retirement.
